BOWL-A-THON A Saturday for Family and Fun (2005 event was held in February) This fund-raiser is to benefit the Basketball Coaches Without Boundaries, Inc. Youth Summer League Basketball Programs and community events. This is our kick-off fundraiser for the coming years events. The event is held at the Terrace Lanes Bowling Alley, Frederick, Md. Teams of four persons bowl three games in a fun competition to score the highest total team pin count. Corporate teams are welcomed. For more details, Download Rules and Team Requirements. Team members are asked to seek a per pin donation from friends, family and co-workers. The proceeds allows BCWB to make it affordable for the youth of Frederick to participate in our Youth Summer Basketball Programs and to hold other free events through the year. In the past, this fundraiser has allowed us to offer the Higher Education\College Fair, UMBC Basketball Game and College Tour, East vs. West Reunion Game, Pizza day at the park and our year-end Community Picnic. All additional monies go towards our overall goal to eventually purchase one time capital expenditures as outdoors electronic desktop score boards or a corporate van. We are striving to be innovative in sponsoring activities that are fun and at the same time raise money for the youth to participate in our programs. If you love to bowl, enjoy the fellowship or just want to make a donation, please join us this year as we prepare for this year Bowl-A-Thon. The rules are very simple and the $17.00 per person minimum fee to bowl three games is well worth the benefit it provides to the youth of Frederick County and City. There are prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. Everyone has a great time. |
