Adult Summer Basketball League 2009

BCWB will take team entries as well as individual player entries.  There will be no scheduled practices by BCWB, however teams are welcome to schedule their own practices.  All games will be officiated by certified High School officials.  Teams will have the option to have a "Player Coach" or Coach assigned to the team.  The BCWB Adult Summer Basketball Season will run June through August. The season will run 8 weeks on Saturdays with all teams making the playoffs. See our “Fact Sheet” for more specific registration information about the program.

Fact Sheet 

Teams: 

• Minimum number of players per team will be 10  (Max 12)
• All teams will be provided game jerseys.  (T-shirt style).  Teams will be responsible for coordination of shorts.

Games: 

• All Games are played on Saturday between 12:00 Noon and 4:00 PM at the Whittier Elem. School \ Recreation Center operated by the City of Frederick Department of Recreation.
• Game dates are June 13th-August 8th 
• All games will be played on regulation high school basketball courts.  
• Single elimination playoff games will be held on August 8, 2009.
• All teams will make the playoffs
• Awards will be given to runner-up and championship teams only

Practice: 

• BCWB will not provide a practice site.  However, teams are welcome to practice on their own time.  

Basketball Governing Rules 

All games will be played in accordance with high school rules.

Insurance: 

Secondary sports insurance will be provided by a qualified and respected sport insurance organization.  

Officials: 

All games will be officiated by IAABO (high school) officials.  

Player eligibility Rule (coaches are required to present birth certificate upon demand): 

• Player can not be 31 prior to June 13, 2009.
• If younger than 18 must have parent consent.

Cost:   

*Individual Entry 

·        Cost will be Early Reg:  $70,  Reg. Reg:  $80,  Late Reg: $90 Per Player (See above for dates)

·        Registration deadline June 1, 2009

·        No Refunds after May 15, 2009 

*Team Entry (optional cost and savings applies per player) 

·        Cost per team (10 or more players) - $80 per player

·        Refundable $100.00 team entry deposit due with team application.  Team refund will be returned upon receipt of final team roster and payment by the due date.

·        Team application with preliminary roster due by April 1, 2009.

·        Final team roster and payment due by May 1, 2009.

·        No refunds, deposit or player registration, after May 1, 2009.

·        Deadline for final modification to team roster June 1, 2009
