This BCWB Fall Basketball League is a unique opportunity and program designed to provide continued competitive Basketball to those who just love to play and serve as a “tune-up” for the winter middle school travel and high school Basketball teams.  All games will be officiated by certified High School officials.  BCWB will provide Free practice site for local teams and pay for 1 hour of practice for remote teams at a agreed practice site. 

Our Fall Basketball League is unique in that it provides you (the coach) the opportunity to work with youths as they prepare to enter into the various winter travel team and high school Basketball programs for which you may be or desire to become a member of their respective coaching staffs.

If you are interested in coaching older or younger youths, we are taking coaching request for grades 3rd, 4^th, and 5^th grades  (division) and grades 9^th, 10^th and 11^th (division).

The BCWB Fall Basketball Season will run September through October. The season will run 8 weeks on Saturdays with all teams making the playoffs. See our “Fact Sheet” for more specific registration information about the program. Registration deadline is August 1, 2009 for Team registrations and August 22, 2009 for Individual registrations.

Fact Sheet 

Teams: 

• Minimum number of teams per division will be four (4)
• Minimum number of players per team will be 10  (Max 12 or coach discretion)
• All teams will be provided game jerseys.  (T-shirt style).  Teams will be responsible for coordination of shorts.

Team Division:  (Suggested age group - may change depending on number of registrations in each group)

• Division I – current grades 3rd, 4^th , and 5^th 
• Division II – current school grades 6th, 7^th and 8^th
• Division III – current school grades 9^th, 10^th and 11^th

Games: 

• All Games are played on Saturday's at the Whittier Recreation Facility operated by the City of Frederick.  Department of Recreation.  Game site may change according to host team preference.
• Game dates are September weekends thru October weekends
• All games, Division I and II game will be played on regulation high school basketball courts.  Division III games mayl be played  “cross court”.  

• Single elimination playoff games 
• All teams will make the playoffs
• Awards will be given to runner-up and championship teams only

Practice: 

• Practice location and times will be provided by Basketball Coaches Without Boundaries.  BCWB will pay the cost of practice sites for remote teams at a desired and agreed practice site in your location. 
• Practices will be held during the weekday. 
• Primary practice site will be Whittier Recreation Facility. 
• Each team will be provided a minimum 1 hour practice slot once a week.  Team practice day will be given on a first come/register first served basis. 

Basketball Governing Rules 

All games will be played in accordance with high school rules.

Officials: 

All games will be officiated by IAABO (high school) officials.  

Player eligibility Rule (coaches are required to present birth certificate upon demand): 

• Division I – current grades 3rd, 4^th , 5^th (player can not be 11 prior to Jan. 1)
• Division II – current school grades 6th, 7^th and 8^th  (player can not be 15 prior to Jan.1)

• Division III – current school grades 9^th, 10^th and 11^th (plus 12th grade execption rule) 

Cost:   

*Individual Entry 

·        Cost will be Returning Summer League Players - $110, Regular rate $130.00 per player (grades 3rd to 11th)

                         Returning Summer League Players - $65, Regular rate  $ 80.00 Per Player (age18 to 30)

·        Registration deadline August 22, 2009

·        No Refunds after August 22, 3009
