The BCWB Fall Basketball League is a unique opportunity and program designed to provide continued competitive Basketball to those who just love to play and serve as a “tune-up” for the winter middle school travel and high school Basketball teams.  All Boys and All Girls Divisions (Girls divisions grade composition may vary depending on enrollment)   

Our Fall Basketball League is unique in that it provides you (the coach or player) the opportunity to work with your team as they prepare to enter into the various winter travel team and high school Basketball programs for which you may be or desire to become a member. 

 

The league will provide two (2) weeks of pre-season practices (1-hour practice per week for each team) and eight (8) additional weeks of practice per team during the regular season.  Great opportunity for players and teams to gain 10 weeks of practice and 8 weeks of competitive Basketball prior to your Winter Basketball programs.  League provides game t-shirts, IAABO Officials and eight (8) weeks of competitive basketball for a very reasonable registration fee as low as $85.00 per player (Early Registration).

The BCWB Fall Basketball Season will run Early September through the end of October. Pre-Season practices will start the week of Mid/Late August. Games will be played primarily during the weekday/evenings and some Saturday Mornings/Afternoons. All teams make the playoffs. Registration starts Early July. 

The BCWB Fall Basketball League doe not require you to return to the same team or coach from last year.  We actually encourage you to enter as a school district, Community or AAU team.  Simply state on your registration you wish to be assigned to another team, team name or specify the team or coach you wish to be assigned.  We do expect teams to fill quickly.  Our minimum number of teams in any age group / Division will be 4 teams.

If you are interested in coaching in our Fall League,  we are taking coaching request for Divisions grades 3rd to 12th (both boys and girls teams).

 

League Information

Season Dates:  Early September to End of October.

Location:          Whittier Recreation Center or Thomas Johnson Middle School (Frederick, Md)

Game Times:   Sat., Morning/Afternoon - Some Weekdays - Times TBD

Teams:              Minimum 4 Teams Per Division 

 

Fee:                  Team and Individual Player rates from $85 to $125 Per Player

Rate range will depend on the time in which you register

PRIORITY:

Registration is first come, first served. 
TEAM ROSTERS:

  • All players registering as team must be listed on the roster.

  • Teams must carry a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 12/14 players on their roster.
LEAGUE DIRECTOR:  Determines the number teams in each division.

Teams: 

  • Number of teams per division will be four (4)
  • Minimum number of players per team will be 10  (Max 12 or coach discretion)
  • All teams will be provided game jerseys.  (T-shirt style).  Teams will be responsible for coordination of shorts.

Team Division (Girls Divisions may vary depending on enrollment)

:  Grades are the grade you will start school in current school year.

  • *Elementary Division – Grades 3rd to 5th  
  • *Middle School Division  - Grades 6th to 8th
  • *High School Varsity Division  - Grades 9h and 12th 

*Basked on the number of players or teams registered per grade group, the league reserves the right to break divisions down to two grades per division.

Games: 

  • All Games are played on some Saturday's and some during the weekday at the Whittier Recreation and Thomas Johnson Middle School Facility operated by the City of Frederick.  Department of Recreation.  Game site subject to  change.
  • Game dates are Early September thru End of October.
  • All games will be played on regulation school basketball courts. 
  • Single elimination playoff games 
  • All teams will make the playoffs
  • Awards will be given to runner-up and championship teams only

Practice: 

  • Practice location and times will be provided by Basketball Coaches Without Boundaries.   
  • Practices will be held during the weekday/evenings. 
  • Primary practice site will be Whittier Recreation and Thomas Johnson Middle School Facility. 
  • Each team will be provided a minimum 1 hour practice slot once a week.  Team practice day will be given on a first come/register first served basis. 

Basketball Governing Rules 

All games will be played in accordance with high school rules.

Officials: 

All games will be officiated by Qualified/Certified Officials
