Sometimes
there are unique family circumstances that would prevent a student from
performing up to his potential. Frederick County Public Schools has established
the Community Agency School Services program (CASS) which partners with public

CASS
coordinators have offices in 9 school communities. Families are welcome to make
contact with a CASS coordinator on their own but it is more common for the
school to contact the parent when they notice that a student is struggling with
his/her work. The CAAS coordinator will then make an assessment of the needs of
the family and refer them to the appropriate agency/agencies. CASS coordinators
can also accompany family members to the agencies that offer the appropriate
service and introduce them to the agents there.
