4th Annual Middle School All-Star Basketball Game

The 4th Annual Greater Frederick County Rising Stars Classic Middle School All-Star Game will be Regional Format.  Invitations have been sent to various Teams, Organizations, Players and Cheerleader Squads throughout the North, East, West and Southern regions/states of Maryland to include counties in the surrounding states of West Virginia, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Washington DC and Maryland.  

Most important to note is Player/Cheerleader Nominations can be made by (and we recommend by) anyone Parent, Coach or Organization.  However, all players/cheerleaders nominated will be required to attend Northern Region All-Star Team Tryouts.  

If you have a player/cheerleader or a Basketball or Cheerleader team who you feel qualifies as Middle School All-Star talent, please make your nominations at the following link Player/Cheerleader and Team Nominations. 

This is a "Free" event to all players, coaches and teams.  This event is sponsored solely by the BCWB Nicholas Leakins SAT Study Group.  However, we do welcome sponsors.  For Sponsorship details please go to Sponsors Details.

Players and Teams are provided All-Star uniforms with their last name and school/organization name on the back at "no charge"/ "Free" and to keep as our appreciation for being part of this wonderful event for Middle School Boys and Girls.  Cheerleaders are asked to wear their Cheer uniforms from their Winter Basketball season.

Frederick County will represent the North Region Boys/Girls/Cheerleader squads.  Players/Cheerleaders can be nominated for the Northern All-Star Teams by Parents, Coaches, Teams or Organization around the North Region (see region locations below).  

Last year we held, with much success, our 3rd Annual in a regional format of various talents from teams within the Frederick, Montgomery, Howard, Baltimore and Washington Counties.  See below highlights, pictures and details/Requirements to enter a player/cheerleader or team.

College / High School / Private School Coaches and Scouts

Player/Cheerleader and Team Nominations. 

In addition, we plan to extend invitations to surrounding College Basketball programs to send a representative to our event.  Our goal is to not only assemble the best of the best Middle School Boys and Girls Basketball players in the Region but to also provide exposure to college opportunities for our student athletes.  

Regions have been defined as follows and several details of the event are listed below.   We currently are looking for submissions of teams and players from these regions to assemble the best of the best / Middle School All-Star players to represent the respective regions.

Details and Requirements

Player/Cheerleader and Team Nominations. 

 
1. Each Region Representative may assemble a team/cheer squad from a Championship team in your regional league or you may assemble a team from multiple Championship teams or talents in your region.  Players and Teams can be nominated by Parents, Coaches or Organizations at Player/cheerleader and Team Nominations. 
 
2. Regions will be as follows:
 
North - Frederick County, Washington County, Counties in West Virginia, Counties in Pennsylvania
East - Carroll County,  Howard Country, Baltimore County, Counties in Delaware
South -  Montgomery County, Counties in Northern Virginia / Virginia
West - Prince George's County, Charles County, Washington, DC
3. Uniform (Jersey) will be provided to all teams / participants.  Each team / participant will be asked to wear a coordinated bottom / shorts.  All other additional gear as shooter shirts, warm ups etc will be optional by each representative team. Cheerleaders are asked to wear their Cheer uniforms from their Winter Basketball season.
 
4. All-star game tentative date will be March 19th weekend.  Second option will be March 26th weekend.  This will be a 1 or 2 Day format tournament.  Format will depend on participation and site availability.
 
5. We will need a valid team participation confirmation by February 28th.  You may email us at bcwb@bcwb.org this address with questions.
 
6. All-star Game / Tournament Format will be NCAA Championship Bracket format.  With an elite 8 teams advancing into the Final 4 to advance to the Championship game.  There will be a Boys Bracket and Girls Bracket.  
 
7. Basketball/Cheer Teams will consist of 8th Grade (Varsity) and under Boys and Girls Teams and 7th Grade (Junior Varsity) and Under Boys and Girls Teams.   All players/Cheerleaders must have a valid school ID or a method to validate grade.  Each team will be required to register your team at the site with a team photo and players Identification.  There is NO Team/Player/Cheerleader entry fee.  This event is "FREE" to qualified players and teams.  However, you must pre-register to be evaluated as an participant.
